Kenneth W. Timmerman, P.E. is managing partner of the firm. Ken grew up in rural South Carolina where he was exposed to land surveying at an early age. After high school, Ken attended Midland's Technical College in Surveying/Civil Engineering where he spent considerable time in the study of pavements, concrete and materials testing procedures. After receiving an Associate Degree, Ken moved on to the Engineering Department at the University of South Carolina where he remained an honor student and served as president of the Civil Engineering Honor Society. While Attending the University of South Carolina he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (1981) and a Master's of Science Degree in Engineering (1983).

Ken joined the company in 1984 and soon became the managing partner for the firm. Ken is credited with the procurement and production of college athletic structures that has led to providing structural services for a number of stadiums and related athletic facilities projects. He is also credited with furnishing the forward-looking attitude and innovations that have led to the design sophistication that our clients have come to expect from us.

Ken is currently registered in 17 southeastern States and has provided structural engineering services for countless multistory hurricane prone buildings from Florida to Virginia. The years of design coupled with his early years spent with the Lexington County Fire Service has helped Ken in developing the repair skills necessary for structures subjected to fires, automobile crashes, hurricanes, settlements and the like. He knows that the best engineering includes good communication.
